This Pasta Bar Has Montrealers Running to the West Island and Here’s Why

PSA: there’s a delicious new pasta bar in Montreal, and if you love fresh pasta, this is one spot you’ll want on your radar.

Adelina Pasta Bar is a family run restaurant located in the West Island, founded by Julia Kolta and inspired by her grandmother, Nonna Adelina. Nonna Adelina grew up in the small village of Avellino near Naples, Italy, in a home surrounded by farmland where food was made simply, lovingly and from scratch. Adelina Pasta Bar brings that beautiful story to life by honouring authentic traditional recipes, Italian roots, and a rich culinary legacy, all with a modern fast casual twist.

Currently located at 6801 Route Transcanadienne, Entrance #6 in Pointe-Claire, Adelina Pasta Bar is already making waves for its focus on quality ingredients and fresh pasta made daily. Not in the West Island? You’ll be excited to hear that two new locations are planned for 2026 on St Catherine Street and in Brossard’s Solar Uniquartier!

What customers are loving most about Adelina is its commitment to simplicity, authenticity and quality. The pasta is made fresh every day using just water and durum semolina flour, which is high in protein, magnesium, and fibre, and easy to digest with no bloating (so you can enjoy your pasta guilt free)! Every dish can be tossed in a Grana Padano cheese wheel imported from Italy and aged 9 to 12 months, adding an extra layer of richness and flavour. All sauces, meatballs, and desserts are homemade, and only extra virgin, cold pressed olive oil is used.

The concept at Adelina Pasta Bar is simple; create your own pasta plate in a few easy steps. Start by choosing your pasta, like rigatoni, campanelle, or the pasta of the day. Next, pick your sauce, such as Alfredo, Rosée, Bolognese, Pesto, or Tomato-Basil. Add your protein, including chicken, meatballs, sausage crumble, or pancetta, and finish your plate with up to three toppings, including broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, rapini, mushrooms, and more.

If you do not want to build your own pasta, do not worry! There are a few signature must-tries on the menu. The Gigi alla Nonna is a comforting, nostalgic dish with rigatoni, sausage crumble, sautéed mushrooms, rosée sauce, green onions, and Parmesan. Equally unmissable is the Lauretta, the restaurant’s best seller, made with rigatoni, rich Bolognese sauce, Parmesan, and creamy ricotta on top. Other popular dishes include Pesto Genovese, Pollo Alfredo, and Giuseppe.

Gluten-free diners can rejoice, as Adelina offers high quality RUMMO gluten-free fusilli and penne, cooked in a completely separate boiler with dedicated pans, utensils, and sauces to safely accommodate the celiac community.

Whether you are searching for a pasta bar in Montreal, fresh pasta in the West Island, or elevated pasta takeout that does not compromise on quality, Adelina Pasta Bar is well worth a visit. Warm, welcoming, and rooted in a beautiful family story, it is the kind of place that quickly earns a spot in your regular rotation.
