Dream Castle Hotel Review: A Fairytale Weekend Escape in Disneyland Paris

Have you ever dreamed of staying in a castle? I just spent two magical nights at Dream Castle Hotel, a charming 4-star hotel just outside Disneyland Paris. As part of a month-long trip to Ireland to visit my boyfriend’s family, we planned a weekend getaway to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park. We chose this hotel for its fairy-tale ambiance, close proximity to the parks, and affordability – a rare find when it comes to Disney accommodation! From Friday, January 17, to Sunday, January 19, we stepped into a world that felt straight out of a storybook, blending luxury with whimsy. Here’s my full review of Dream Castle Hotel, covering everything from booking to amenities and dining!

Booking Process

We booked online directly through the hotel’s website, and the process was seamless. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the parks, despite it not being an official Disney-hotel. One of the first things that stood out when booking was the enchanting fairy-tale theme of the website, which set the tone for our stay and got us super excited for our trip.

Getting to Dream Castle Hotel from Charles de Gaulle Airport

The hotel is located at 40 Avenue de la Fosse des Pressoirs, 77700 Magny-le-Hongre, Marne-la-Vallée, France, about 10 minutes from Disneyland Paris. From Charles de Gaulle Airport, we had two main options: the TGV high-speed train, which takes around 10–15 minutes and costs between €20–€30, or the RER regional train, a more affordable but longer option at €10–€12, taking 45–60 minutes. Both trains arrive at Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station, the main stop for Disneyland Paris.

From there, the free shuttle service to the hotel was easy to find. Located at Platform I of the Marne-la-Vallée Chessy bus station, the shuttle runs between the five Val de France hotels, including Dream Castle Hotel, and gets you there in just 10 minutes. After a long travel day, this was a convenient and stress-free way to reach our stay.

First Impressions & Check-In

As soon as we arrived, the hotel’s majestic exterior, complete with towering turrets and French-style gardens, truly made us feel like we had stepped into a fairytale! The lobby was absolutely stunning, with grand chandeliers, intricate mirrors, and themed décor like a massive stag statue and a giant fairy-tale book. Check-in was smooth, with plenty of staff working, which meant no long waits. Since we had booked online, we were handed our keys right away and were able to access our room at 3 PM.

Room Review

We stayed in a double room, costing approximately $250 CAD per night. Once we walked in, we were amazed at how spacious the room was at 44 sqm, providing ample space for two people! We also loved the warm wood tones and golden accents that gave the space a regal & cozy feel.

Spacious Bedroom

The room featured a king-size bed which was exceptionally comfortable, with hypoallergenic bedding and pillows that ensured a great night’s sleep. There was a sitting area, a large desk, and a courtesy tea and coffee tray. The closet was large enough to fit all our clothes, with plenty of hangers, and there was also a safe for valuables. Modern amenities included a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi.

The bathroom was sleek and spacious, featuring a large shower, a hairdryer, and all the essentials. The only thing I didn’t love was the three-in-one shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided, so if you’re picky about hair care, I’d recommend bringing your own. The water pressure was decent, though not particularly strong.

Bedroom & Bathroom

My favorite aspect of the room was the incredible view! Our window overlooked the gardens, pool, and French countryside, making it feel like we were truly staying in a castle. The room was also very quiet, which was a pleasant surprise considering how family-friendly the hotel is. Overall, we were delighted with our room and it was such a relief to come back to our cozy room after walking around the parks racking up 20,000+ steps! Check out my room tour here!

Hotel Amenities

Despite visiting in winter, when the outdoor pool was closed, there was still plenty to enjoy. The hotel also includes an indoor heated pool, ‘Dragon Lagoon’, featuring a slide and jacuzzi – perfect for warming up after a chilly day at the parks. The hotel also has an Asian-inspired spa with a sauna and hammam, as well as a fitness center. With temperatures dropping to -1°C, the sauna was a welcome retreat in the afternoons. For families, the hotel offers a playground and a children’s area called ‘Oh Dear,’ designed to resemble an enchanted forest. There’s also a heated paddling pool for younger kids and a water slide for older children.

Service

Throughout our stay, the service at Dream Castle Hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly, approachable, and always willing to help. Housekeeping was thorough, with daily room servicing, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Dining Options

One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary buffet breakfast. The selection was impressive, featuring scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, French charcuterie, pastries (of course with tons of croissants), cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and even hot chocolate. This hearty breakfast was the perfect way to fuel up for a long day at Disneyland while also helping us save on food costs inside the park.

Buffet Breakfast & La Rotisserie

The hotel also features L’Astrolab Bar, where we enjoyed cocktails in the cozy lobby after the parks. There’s also Restaurant La Rôtisserie, a buffet-style option featuring rotisserie chicken, ham, sausages, and more, priced at €38 per person.

Shuttle Service

One of the best things about Dream Castle Hotel is its close proximity to Disneyland Paris. The free shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes (or every 40 minutes during off-peak hours) from 8 AM until two hours after the parks close. This made it incredibly easy to go back and forth without worrying about transportation.

Value for Money

With rates starting at €107.2 (approx. $161 CAD) per night, Dream Castle Hotel offers fantastic value, especially considering the complimentary shuttle service, free buffet breakfast and parking, and spacious rooms. The combination of fairy-tale charm, family-friendly amenities, and an affordable price tag makes it a great alternative to the official Disney hotels.

Final Review of Dream Castle Hotel

We absolutely loved our two-night stay at Dream Castle Hotel. At $250 CAD (€165) per night, it offered excellent value for money, especially with the complimentary buffet breakfast and frequent shuttle service to the parks. After long days at Disneyland, unwinding with a drink in the beautiful L’Astrolab Bar was the perfect way to end the night. For anyone looking to experience the magic of Disneyland Paris without the high cost of an official Disney hotel, Dream Castle Hotel is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it for couples, families, and anyone wanting a fairy-tale escape on a budget!
